Blue and white Sunday

One look at my garden reveals a not overtly planned color scheme. It just evolved into blue and white for the summer. I usually have a riot of color, but I guess I was in a French frame of mind!

Living in the northern part of the U.S. prevents us from enjoying the special plants of the South. Southern magnolias are a special treasure here. We purchased one several years ago and put in front of my husband's brick studio wall where it gets blasted from the sun for most of the day. Thus far, it has made it through our winters, probably because the brick wall shelters it from most of the heavy snow and brutal winds. I proudly present a bloom to you!

I am looking forward to the plants really bursting over their pots! Patience...

Periwinkle is one of my favorite colors outdoors. Here are plumbago and campanula.

Happy Sunday!

  1. Gorgeous garden color!!! I wish I had a gardener's green thumb. I wouldn't know where to start. My thumb tends to be brown.... You're growing some really pretty things, Ann.
